Medical Helicopter to Rescue Injured Skiers on the Slopes of the Mountain Resort of Bansko
As of tomorrow, December 13, 2014, one of the medevac helicopters of Lev Ins AD Insurance Company will be stationed in Bansko to provide airborne assistance as part of the Active Care Insurance.
The AGUSTA A109K2 chopper is in full operational readiness to start taking part in rescue operations within the resort. The decision to station it in Bansko was a strategic one as its position allows it to easily reach any one of Bulgaria’s mountain resorts.
For the first time in history a Bulgarian ski resort will have an air rescue service in line with every European mountain safety requirement including air hoist rescue capabilities.
Active Care Insurance can be placed for the price of BGN 6 at any one of the ticket counters offering ski lift passes.
ZK Lev Ins AD’s Active Care insurance product is unique for the Bulgarian insurance market and comes as an extension of the Active Care Project that started in June of 2014. The Project is a public-private partnership of the Bulgarian Red Cross and the Active Security Club Association and is financed by ZK Lev Ins AD.
Active Care’s objective is to support government efforts in the field of first aid and medical assistance by putting together medical teams in line with the best European practices, providing access to first aid to a larger number of people across the country, providing adequate medical help in as many accidents as possible, and upgrading the existing capabilities in this sphere.
